Your location: what is shared and how to stop

What the phone app shares about your location, when, who sees it, how long it is kept, and how to stop at any time.

Your organization decides whether the phone app uses location. If it does, the app shows a consent screen the first time you sign in, and again whenever the notice changes. Nothing is shared until you tick I have read and agree to the Terms of Use and the Location Notice and press Agree and continue.

What is shared, and when#

• On site during work hours: only while you are on your organization's grounds during work hours. You don't clock in. Away from the grounds, or outside work hours, your phone sends nothing.
• While clocked in: only between clocking in and clocking out.
• What is shared is which building or area you are in, and the room when you scan a room code. Your exact GPS position is not stored.
• Only the managers above you can see it. Never other workers, teachers or students.
• Location records are deleted after the number of days your organization set (30 unless it chose otherwise).

The Today screen tells you plainly, for example Sharing location: on site, work hours or Not sharing (outside work hours).

The permission questions#

After you agree, the app explains and then Android asks for location: choose While using the app. Next, a short explanation and Android asks again: choose Allow all the time, so it works with the app closed. It still only sends when your organization's rule allows. Android shows a notification while it runs.

How to stop#

1. On Today, press Location settings.
2. Press Stop sharing my location, then Yes, stop sharing.

It stops at once, and your managers see "Location not shared". The app keeps working for your jobs. You can also turn off location for Operacora in your phone's settings. To share again, press Read and agree in the same place.

If you choose Not now#

The app works normally for your jobs. You are not asked again for the same notice; you can agree later in Location settings.
