Buildings and places
Add, rename, reorder and archive your buildings, campuses or sites, and choose the word your team uses for them.
Every job belongs to one place: a building, campus or site. In Settings › Buildings (the menu uses your own word) top-level managers keep the list up to date.
Your word for a place#
Type what your team calls a place, such as Building, Campus, Site or Location. Menus and lists use it.
Add, rename and reorder#
- Press Add a building and type its name, or change a name in its box.
- Use the up and down arrows to change the order. It is the order of the switcher at the top of job pages and of every list.
- Press Save.
A new place shows up at once in the switcher, floor plans, the grounds map, job order and building workers, people's home buildings, and the phone app's Report a problem. Each place keeps the same internal id for good, so renaming it never breaks anything.
Then mark where it is (Settings › Location and time clock, Building areas) and add its floor plans.
Archive instead of delete#
Old jobs, floor plans and reports keep pointing at a place, so a place in use is archived, not deleted:
- It disappears from the switcher, the pickers and new requests.
- Old jobs still show its name.
- Restore brings it back.
A place that nothing uses (no jobs, floor plans, building area or building worker) can be deleted for good with Delete. At least one place always stays active.
The time zone is set for the whole organization in Organization.
