Roles and levels
Operacora has three levels: top, middle and workers. Name them the way your team talks, and see exactly what each one can do.
Every person has one of three levels. The levels decide what people see and do. In Settings › Roles you give them your own names, for example Director, Supervisor and Maintenance. The names show everywhere levels appear: the People list, pickers, the menu and the phone app. Renaming never changes what a level can do.
What each level can do#
Each level's card lists what it can and can't do. The list is worked out from the same rules the server enforces, so it is always true.
| Level | In short |
|---|---|
| Top | Sees everything except another top-level person's personal queue, assigns, reopens, deletes from Trash, manages people and changes the organization's settings. |
| Middle | Sees the Main Inbox, their own personal queue and every worker's jobs, assigns and reopens, but not another middle-level person's queue. Sees the team list with contact details partly hidden. Can't change settings. |
| Workers | See only the jobs given to them, mark them done with a photo, and report problems from the phone app. |
Rename the levels#
- Open Settings › Roles (top-level managers).
- Type a name for each level, up to 40 characters. Each level needs a different name.
- Press Save names.
If someone else saved in the meantime, you are told and see their names, so nobody's change is lost.
Organization rules#
- Managers may mark a worker's job done on their behalf; a photo is still required. This is the same for every organization today.
- Nobody can give someone a level above their own, lower their own level, or deactivate themselves.
- There is always at least one active top-level person.
To change someone's level, see People and setup links.
