Finish a job: Complete, Need Parts, Can't Fix

Close a job with a photo, pause it while you wait for a part, or send it back when you can't fix it.

Every job you open in the phone app has three buttons at the bottom. Pick the one that matches what happened.

A job, with its three buttons (illustration).

Complete: done, with a photo#

  1. Open the job and tap Complete.
  2. Tap Take photo to photograph the finished work, or Choose photo to pick one you already took. You can also Record video. Add as many as you like; Remove takes one off.
  3. Add a Note (optional), for example "Replaced the latch".
  4. Tap Send.

At least one photo is required: "Add at least one photo to complete this job." The photo is the proof your manager sees next to the request. The job moves to Completed, and a job can only be completed once, so a double tap or a retry never counts twice.

Take the photo so it shows the room too, not only the close-up. It helps your manager see it is the right place.

Need Parts: waiting for something#

If you can't finish until something is bought or delivered:

  1. Tap Need Parts.
  2. Write what you need in the note (size, model, how many) and add a photo of the old part if it helps. Both are optional, but they save a trip.
  3. Tap Send.

The job stays yours, moves to your Need Parts group, and shows on your managers' Need Parts list. When the part arrives, a manager marks Parts arrived and the job is back in your active list. If you get the part yourself, you can complete the job straight from Need Parts.

Can't Fix: send it back#

If the job is not something you can do (it needs a specialist, it's the wrong room, it's unsafe):

  1. Tap Can't Fix.
  2. Say why in the note, and add a photo or video if it explains it better. Both are optional.
  3. Tap Send.

The job goes back to the Main Inbox, unassigned, with your note, so a manager can send it to the right person. It leaves your list.

If something goes wrong#

  • No signal: your action is saved on the phone and sent when you are online. Photos upload in the background.
  • "This job was changed by someone else": a manager changed it while you were working. The app shows the latest version; check it and try again.
  • "This job is no longer on your list": it was unassigned or moved. Nothing you need to do.
